In my home country, Germany, I think the best holiday is Christmas. Christmas season is amazing. We have many markets especially for Christmas. Christmastime normally comes with a lot of snow and an amazing atmosphere. My mom makes cookies, and we have lots of friends and family over to our house, so it's a wonderful time.

What is your country's best holiday? I think in China the best holiday should be the spring festival. It is the main festival in China, and the families always get together, and the children can get their red pack with the money put in, so everybody likes that holiday.

My country's best holiday, I think, would be the Ramadan month, just because it is the holy month and everybody is usually pretty nice, and usually have a longer holiday on it, maybe around two weeks or something. So, the Ramadan month would be the best holiday for me.

I'm from the U.S., so I would say the best holiday would be maybe Thanksgiving, although there are some aspects of that holiday that I don't like. The best festival in Australia, or in Tasmania, is the Taste of Tasmania. This festival happens every summer, and during this festival, there's lots of food. Places from right around Australia get their food and take it all to Tasmania, so you get the best flavors, the best aromas, the best primary products, all come to Tasmania, and the food festival is Amazing. You can eat there for one week, and you still wouldn't try all the food available. Also, there's lots of music. There's lots of festival events, such as comedians come and perform, and bands come in just to give interviews about themselves. Also, it's right on the water so many people come just to watch the ocean and enjoy the countryside, and festival atmosphere. It's really an impressive event.

I think people should live together because by living together, you tend to find out, like the qualities in the partner that you want. And before marriage, it's important to confirm those qualities by living together.

I don't think men and women should live together before marriage. I think that they should make every effortto know each other, but I don't think they should live together. I guess more because of moral reasons, my own beliefs, religious beliefs. I think that you can get to know someone, you know your friends, you can get to know them, your girlfriends or your male friends, even though they don't live with you. So, I don't think there's a need to live together before marriage.

People should definitely live together before they get married. You don't really know if you're going to live with someone until you actually do. You don't really know the real person until you've lived with them and see them at their best and their worst moments. So, I think if you're going to get married and spend the rest of your life with someone, I think you should see them in all aspects of life before you take that plunge.

I think it depends on the couple and the culture. For me, I don't think so, because it's not official yet that you're married, and it's not like my culture to live before you get married. It's usually you get married and then you live together, so I don't think I would get used to that culture.

Ayumi: Same here. Actually all my room mates have been boys. I've never felt uncomfortable. The same case, they take trash for me or they carry my stuff. They are really kind and I really like them because they are like brothers rather than like strangers.

Todd: So, Layla, we're talking about being an au pair. What is the daily routine of an au pair? Like, what do you do everyday?

Layla: So, every day I wake in the morning at seven and I take care of the kids, and get them dressed. I drop them at school. After that I go to my class. I take a class, and English class, and then I pick them at 12:30 at school. And he come back at home, the kid, and he take his nap. After that we go to the park by car, go to the library or until the parents come back from their work.

Todd: That's a pretty full-day. So what's the best thing about being an au pair?

Layla: The best think for me I think is to meet new people and new culture, new lifestyle, and I think for me it's a very good experience.

Todd: Is there anything difficult about being an au pair?

Layla: The most difficult I think it to be far from our family because for me it's the first time so it's a little bit hard, but just one year, it's gonna be OK.

Todd: So, for an au pair is it your job to like cook and clean and things like that?

Layla: Most of the au pairs cooks for the kids and do the laundry. I don't. But, yeah, usually the au pairs have to clean up after the kids. Do their laundry. Clean up their bedroom, and yeah, taking care of the kids. Yeah.
